God is Born a Man Today – Merry Christmas

Last year we released an album of songs celebrating the Incarnation. We called it Savior: Celebrating the Mystery of God Become Man. It was the CD my family started the day with this morning. Here are the words to the opening song, Christ the Lord, written by my good friend, Mark Altrogge.

How my happy heart rejoices
I can hear the angel voices
“Christ is born” they all are singing
From the sky this good news bringing
Let the earth rejoice
O come and lift your voices

Christ the Lord is born today
He came from heaven’s throne
God is born a man today
To bring His children home
To bring His children home

Death and darkness surely tremble
Light has come to all the people
The Lion comes to crush the serpent
He comes a Lamb, a lowly servant
Let the earth rejoice
O come and lift your voices

God has sent His greatest treasure
Shown His love in greatest measure
Sending Christ to bleed and suffer
Purchasing our joy forever
Let the earth rejoice
O come and lift your voices

That’s an excellent song. Great reminder of why Christ come to earth. I’m thankful that we have a holiday to remember this event!

Our church was able to sing this song over the holidays and was very blessed by it. It is a wonderful blend of good guitar music and great theology. I have thoroughly enjoyed this song!

    Hey Bob,

Thank you so much for releasing this CD project about the incarnation of the Son of God; this has been a blessing. I can testify to God’s grace that listening to this CD has prepared my heart (as it has for others) to celebrate this glorious mystery. All of these songs exalt Christ in this magnificent event and leaves us in awe and adoration of this tiny Child. And the best is that EVERY day can be used to celebrate this event!

May you continue to feel the Savior’s good and great pleasure towards you and your family as you continue to exalt the Son of God through your music and daily worship.

    In Christ,

    Brian
