Looking Back at WorshipGod09

As I review the past year, one of my highlights was definitely WorshipGod09: From Generation to Generation, featuring John Piper, C.J. Mahaney, Jeff Purswell, Thabiti Anyabwile, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Shai Linne, Don Whitney, and many more. Over 1700 worshipers of God gathered for 3 1/2 days of singing, instruction, fellowship, and equipping. From the evaluations we got, God met us in wonderful and specific ways.

We just put together a slide show (using Animoto) that gives you a sample of what took place at the conference. The soundtrack is The Father’s Love, from Sons & Daughters, the album that we released at the conference.

If you’re a long range planner, we’ve scheduled the next WorshipGod conference for Aug. 10-13, 2011. I’ll keep you posted as plans develop.

I’m not a long range planner, so you’ll have to keep us posted, which I’m sure you will. I just commented on another blog about trying to get more involved in conferences this coming year. I managed to miss every one in 2009, but I’d like to change that.

Thanks for the run down though. Will try to keep it in mind.

I haven’t had the opportunity of listening to it because i’m over here in Africa, but i hope i will someday. I love songs that can take me directly into God’s presence. And thus i strive to wait on the Holy Spirit to inspire me to write great worship songs.

WG09 was such a tremendous blessing from GOD!! Thank you Bob and staff for all the work you guys put into it. I can’t put into words (without filling up this blog) how God worked in my life leading up to the conference. Then the event itself happened, and it was 3 days of God bringing it all together and making it real for me (and my wife). Just unbelievably awesome! God is so good and gracious.

Hey Bob, I did have one question about worship conferences. I know there isn’t another WG scheduled until 2011, but are there any outside of Sovereign Grace that you would recommend for this year? I did some searching a few weeks ago, but it’s hard to judge what some of them are about. I don’t want to judge them, but there seems to be a lot of flashy, commercialized, “let’s promote something” music conference.
