Two, no, SIX Chances to Win a Free Registration to WorshipGod11

WorshipGod11 is exactly seven weeks away. Registration is going better than I expected and some of the seminars are beginning to fill up. We have a great list of teachers lined up this year, both in the main sessions and the breakouts. Bryan Chapell, Ray Ortlund, Jr., Thabiti Anyabwile, Craig Cabaniss, Don Whitney, Shai Linne, and more.

In addition, Enfield and Mike Cosper and a band from Sojourn Community Church will be leading us for two sessions. As always, there will be a few surprises, a lot of laughter, and rich times of worshiping God through song, preaching, and fellowship. If you’re needing reasons to come, I shared twelve of them in a previous post.

But it may be you want to come and just don’t have the money. Well, I’ve got good news for you. Someone signed up to come and is now unable to make it. He asked that his registration be passed on to someone else. I’m going to match his generosity and give away another registration. UPDATE: A friend saw this post and offered to pay for two more registrations. I was inspired by his generosity, so I’m going to give away two more as well. So I’ll pick three of the best answers and three at random.

So here’s the deal. Leave a comment below and share in 50 words or less (that’s right, 50 words…not looking for a treatise here) why I should give you the free registration. I’m going to pick what I think is the best answer and also draw a name at random.

You have until 11:59 PM EST on Friday, June 24 to leave a comment. I’ll announce the winners on Monday.

The clock is ticking…

I want to help our people worship with energy and passion, even though we’re so small. Besides, registration is like grace: free and undeserved…

  2. Stephen June 22, 2011 at 6:32 PM #

Bc I am the first to leave a comment, we are a fairly new church plant of less than 2 years, I strongly desire to bring my wife wherever I go, and I have never had the privilege of attending a conference led by Bob himself b/c we are in Dothan, AL.

  3. Ben June 22, 2011 at 6:33 PM #

Because I was here first. :P

  4. Dan June 22, 2011 at 6:34 PM #

If I am being completely honest, there is not a very good reason why I should get the free registration. My worship pastor asked me and my wife to go. One registration is a lot easier to pay for than two. Here’s hoping I’ll be a random pick?

  5. Tyler June 22, 2011 at 6:34 PM #

Newly married with a new worship ministry that could truly use the guidance of conference like Worship God. I have a heart to lead believers into authentic gospel-centered worship. I’m hungry to learn and want to bless my congregation by pointing them to Jesus in a consistent focused manner.

My husband accepted and began working in his first position as a worship pastor in January after resigning from his job as a college music teacher on a secular campus. Though he had always said “I will never be a worship leader” because he feared his pride taking glory from God, the Lord had different plans. After reading “Worship Matters” 3 years ago and volunteering as a worship leader at our local church my husband began to lean further and further into a career change. Now that he has been called to a new church as a full time worship pastor, I know this conference would encourage him as well as our entire church as a result of his attendance!

  7. Kyle Broady June 22, 2011 at 6:42 PM #

I am attending the conference on my church’s dime, but my wife and mother of 3 who rarely gets a chance to participate in anything outside the home is not. She graduated with a music degree and I know it would be a treat for her to come with me.

  8. Ben June 22, 2011 at 6:42 PM #

    Ok second…but still

  9. dawn June 22, 2011 at 6:47 PM #

getting the heart fired up by song (wonderful, blessed lyrics) is always a need for this youngling in CHRIST. & I would hopefully run into some Great friends (if not I’d make new ones)

  10. Andrew June 22, 2011 at 6:47 PM #

As a young worship leader for an even younger church plant, I’m eager to grow in grace so that I can better lead my brothers and sisters into the presence of God through song.

  11. Malachi T June 22, 2011 at 6:48 PM #

I’ve been attending my current church since I was a week old, and have been recently given the task and honor of leading worship. I want to do everything I can do prepare myself for the duty, and Sovereign Grace has been very helpful. Plus, this is exactly fifty words.

  12. Rebecca June 22, 2011 at 6:49 PM #

I would like it for my son who is a senior in college as a music major and would rather go here than any other conference this year, but we can’t afford to send him. We attended two years ago as a family, but my husband has been out of work since then and we are in process of renegotiating our house payment and hopefully won’t loose our house. He has grown leaps and bounds in his walk with Christ and I am hoping he will continue to glorify God through music and your conference was so influential in leading him that direction!

  13. Randy June 22, 2011 at 6:50 PM #

I few months ago I became the music director at my church. I’ve led worship in various capacities over the past several years, but I’ve never been taught much about it. And I’ve certainly never been to a conference, which sounds incredible! I love the idea of hearing from experienced, Godly folks who have huge hearts for worshiping God.

  14. Tom June 22, 2011 at 6:55 PM #

It actually wouldn’t be for me. But I have a buddy in Maryland who is a worship leader and loves to glorify the Lord through song and musical excellence. He would love to go (and he doesn’t know I’m doing this).

    Thanks!
    Tom

  15. Emily Riley June 22, 2011 at 6:56 PM #

We’d like to win a trip to come and Worship God with you.
As newlyweds our funds our tight, and this year had to choose
We went to Next to better learn to share God with the world
But would love to join the Gathering when your winner is revealed!

(p.s. do I get bonus points since my poem is exactly 50 words?) :)

  16. Don Johnson June 22, 2011 at 6:58 PM #

Our church has finally hired a worship pastor after a 2.5 year search. Not only is he a strong supporter and user of Sovereign Grace materials, but this conference would be an excellent way for him to serve the Lord and start his ministry off on the right foot!

  17. Leigh-Ann Eshleman June 22, 2011 at 7:00 PM #

As a Christian and classical pianist, I love to play in my church’s worship band, but can find the worship band arena awkward. Coming to WorshipGod11 would answer a lot of my questions, but as a college student, money is tight.

  18. Jocelyn St. Hilaire June 22, 2011 at 7:00 PM #

I would like to get a free registration because my husband and I are going and we are newly married (just 6 weeks ago!). It is his first time going to WG (my 4th) and it would really help to have a free registration!

  19. Jason Robinson June 22, 2011 at 7:00 PM #

I’m the staff worship leader for my church, but I’m only paid part-time. Being bi-vocational to make ends meet for my wife & I is exhausting, but more than that, I can’t afford to take time off from my 2nd job w/out pay AND pay for the conference.

  20. Julian June 22, 2011 at 7:06 PM #

    Hi Bob,

Question: What if we’ve already registered? Can we still put in our names for the free registration? Or is this only for people who have yet to register?

    Thanks!
    Julian

PS — I’ll be driving all the way from Canada, so that has got to be worth a free registration, right? :)

  21. Joey June 22, 2011 at 7:06 PM #

My pastor and I will be going already, so my vote is for Kyle Broady who commented above.

I too have a wife who spends her days and evenings tending to our 2 children as I serve in ministry. I understand the longing to attend a conference like this with my faithful and loving wife so that she doesn’t always have to be looking from the outside in…and I honestly did not count my words.

Thanks Bob for being so gracious to allow 2 people to come for free.

  22. Didi Keppel June 22, 2011 at 7:07 PM #

I don’t deserve it, but would love to be able to go. Recently I have been having a hard time worshipping God through my actions, words, and yes even in song. I am so distracted by life and all of my wants and perceived “needs” that I have been having a hard time worshipping HIM as God and not myself. I’d like to go to Worship God, so that I can take a few days away from “real life” and just focus on the greatness and majesty of The Lord. :-)

  23. Jarred Hallman June 22, 2011 at 7:08 PM #

I am a new church planter, and I am in need of help equipping our people in worship. I would also love to bring my worship leader, who is learning how to lead worship for the first time. He is a young college student with a tremendous voice, but needs some help in leading worship. it would be a tremendous blessing to be part of WorshipGod11!

  24. Philip June 22, 2011 at 7:22 PM #

My wife and I are recently moved to a new area and are still without a great church. Our hearts are longing for the Gospel and Bible based worship we are used to. What a refreshment this corporate worship would be!

  25. Danny June 22, 2011 at 7:34 PM #

I would love to come. I am a seminary student and will be between classes when this conference is happening. It would be a blessing to come to this conference and learn from and worship with some of this topic’s great thinkers.

  26. Barry Joslin June 22, 2011 at 7:37 PM #

Because two singers on my worship team (husband and wife) are dedicated every week, just miscarried, are WORSHIPERS, and badly want to come. I will pay their reg if they don’t “win,” but I would love to give honor where it’s due.

    I want it for them.

    Barry Joslin

  27. David Peters June 22, 2011 at 7:41 PM #

WorshipGod09 was amazingly helpful to our worship team and ultimately to our entire congregation. Our worship leader discovered the songs of Sovereign Grace and brought them home for the church to sing. We have 9 people coming so far, and a free registration would allow me to encourage another person to join us.

  28. John Mark Patrick June 22, 2011 at 7:49 PM #

Solo pastor/worship leader/chief bottle washer at teeny-tiny rural presby church needs some encouraging and some stimulating in the creativity dept.

  29. Derrick Jeror June 22, 2011 at 7:52 PM #

I will be coming to worship our savior and teach some audio technology classes. I would really love to bring my wonderful wife to worship with me, but we don’t have the finances to be able to.

  30. Rick June 22, 2011 at 7:52 PM #

I’m pastoring a church where the song leader mostly stares at a hymnal. If you choose this entry, I will encourage him to go and gain valuable training, blessing our church and be a great lead in to that worship training book by Bob Kauflin, due out ???

  31. Ted June 22, 2011 at 8:01 PM #

My wife and I are newlyweds. We are both on the worship team, although I’ve only joined recently. We would love to come and worship with you, as well as learn how to better lead others in worship. Funds are tight, so free registration would really be a blessing.

  32. Noelle June 22, 2011 at 8:11 PM #

My Husband is a worship leader and is going to the conference. I love joining him for conferences but we are unable to afford two registrations. =) I would Love to be there with him to learn along side of him..

  33. Katie MacDonald June 22, 2011 at 8:15 PM #

I don’t “deserve” to win this by any means. But i’ve really been wanting to attend this conference for a while, and I don’t have the funds to do it as i just started college. I lead worship for my newly planted church’s small group, and this would be such an amazing oppurtunity! Thanks for consideration!

  34. Y. Pena June 22, 2011 at 8:22 PM #

Would give it to my boyfriend. He leads worship in a beautiful church in Barcelona, Spain (www.porgracia.es) and he is always eager to grow in how to bring our small yet passionate congregation before the Lord in worship. Great surprise, plus I’d get a chance to see him before or after the conference, I live in nyc.

  35. Aaron June 22, 2011 at 8:25 PM #

I have registered already. I would love to take my wife with me to this. I went last and was greatly blessed. Money is a litte tight and I would love for my wife to share this experience with me.

  36. Justin Erickson June 22, 2011 at 8:32 PM #

I’d like to serve and surprise my worship pastor. He is so careful and deliberate, not only in planning services, but in writing songs for our church, according to what we are learning in God’s Word. The main reason however, is because he needs a break. In addition to leading and counseling, he has for the last 1 1/2 years, taken his cousins’ 2 children while they have been in liberal foster care and cared for them as Christ would (6 total). He has been moderator, protector, teacher, pastor, disciplinarian, and servant to the kids, and mediator/cheerleader before the courts for his cousins. I’d love him to get away and be refreshed by a ministry that he loves. – His Senior Pastor

  37. Richard Christian June 22, 2011 at 8:40 PM #

Because the 25th is my birthday and it’d be a great gift!

  38. Pete Sifuentes June 22, 2011 at 8:41 PM #

Thanks…The Lord has allowed me to lead Schools of Worship with YWAM and I would love to attend the conference after these years and bring my young apprentice to experience the week and glean for himself a better understanding of training others who desire to lead. You offer such well rounded insights and resources-but to attend a conference would bring lasting benefits that would multiply to the nations and the local church.

  39. Margy June 22, 2011 at 9:01 PM #

Like some others, this isn’t for myself. I have a friend who is excited for God and loves music. Her brother, not a musician, has offered to go with her and I know she’s very excited about the possibility. I also have a brother that is a worship leader and loves to write music and is constantly looking to learn.

  40. Jon June 22, 2011 at 9:09 PM #

I’m a Worship Pastor in a transitioning southern church, we are learning together what Biblical worship is. God is teaching us to be a healthy church, but finances are lacking. By attending Worship God, I would be able to spread a greater passion for Christ in His church here.

  41. David Grorud June 22, 2011 at 9:31 PM #

    Grace.

  42. Caleb Fox June 22, 2011 at 10:30 PM #

I am 24, and just started as the worship leader at my Dad’s Church. I have been following Bob Kauflin for 10 years now, and have read his book, “worship matters” 3 time, and I am having my worship team read it now.
Truthfully, I would give anything to meet Mr Kauflin and sit under his Worship….and I also would like more guidance for how to better lead my church in worship.
Love you guys and what you’re doing!
    All Glory to God!

  43. Petra Hernandez June 22, 2011 at 10:30 PM #

I’ve read most of these reasons as to why you should pick others and wow, such great reasons :) my reason is just simple, I love to worship God everywhere, anywhere and all the time. I would soooooo enjoy and be ever so grateful to go and worship our Savior. I am unemployed and I have lost my unemployement and can’t find a job but I am so thankful that my Lord and Savior is sustaining me and taking care of me as He has promised. My God is an AWESOME God!!!!

  44. Dan Lyle June 22, 2011 at 10:35 PM #

My friend Dan Price is an amazing guy who would be very blessed by this gift. I’m convinced that you would do well to give it to him. He loves Jesus and is passionate about sharing His Gospel through music and song.

  45. Randy Lundy June 22, 2011 at 10:51 PM #

We are a new urban church plant and our leadership team is wrestling with how to effectively select and arrange our worship music to be culturally adapted (urban folk, indie rock), doctrinally rich, AND congregationally singable. We need help and would be THRILLED to send someone for much-needed resources and ideas.

  46. Chris Acker June 22, 2011 at 11:57 PM #

I am always amazed by what God can do with so little. God has been unearthing the passion and calling in our lives. I was praying the other day “God, what is happening to me! “Will you”, me-“YES”. I am still not sure what I said YES to. lol

  47. Mike June 23, 2011 at 12:00 AM #

Due to necessary budget cuts, the church staff position I occupied was eliminated at the end of 2010. Since the beginning of the year, I have been both actively looking for a new position and seeking employment in the marketplace. Thus far, both searches have yielded no results. Needless to say, the last several months have proven to be a extended desert season. It would be so refreshing and renewing to attend WorshipGod11, to have the opportunity to interact with brothers and sisters and bask in the beauty of the gospel.

  48. Dennis Cook June 23, 2011 at 12:52 AM #

I have a desire to learn….a desire to grow….& a passion for Christ that can be enhanced by this conference. Thankful for the opportunity to be considered….

  49. Kate Johnson June 23, 2011 at 1:06 AM #

To discern if this old dog really can learn new things. I am old school worship planner/leader whom God is stretching beyond anything I ever imagined. To learn, absorb and be a sponge to soak up as much as possible by God’s grace, & bring it home to share.

  50. Anthony June 23, 2011 at 1:17 AM #

I’ve recently joined a Sovereign Grace-relating church and, after 10+ years of leading worship in emotionally charged hyper-charismatic churches, I could sorely use a more Biblically sound perspective on music and worship. Thanks.

  51. Kathy June 23, 2011 at 1:26 AM #

Because my soul is so thirsty to be in the presence of God. I seem to require a lot more worship than other people.

Will usher or work in the bookstore or clean toilets to go to the main sessions.

I asked for it for my birthday every two years for a decade…but hasn’t happened.

Wish I could go with my daughters.

  52. Tricia June 23, 2011 at 1:47 AM #

First year worship leader trying to figure out how to lean on God’s grace and not my own abilities! I was floored by Worship Matters and it spurred me to learn OF God not just about God. I would love three days of theology chewing and gleaning from veteran worship leaders!

  53. Justin June 23, 2011 at 1:49 AM #

I went to school with Enfield members!

  54. Jeff Skipper June 23, 2011 at 1:56 AM #

I am a full-time worship pastor, seminary student, husband and father who would love the opportunity to worship, rest, and learn. I’m the sole provider for my family and the church doesn’t have the money to send me. I’d love to attend and the free registration would make it possible!

  55. Mattie Fuller June 23, 2011 at 2:12 AM #

After being a member of our praise band for the last three years, I ran my first rehearsal as the leader tonight. Our church also introduced its new long-range plan which calls for moving us out of our current space and time into one to-be-determined.

However, with that move comes the opportunity to restructure our worship in a more contemporary fashion.

I would love the opportunity to interact and worship with band leaders and worship pastors from many different churches in order to expand my horizons as a new leader and create a worship experience that allows our congregation to worship God in a meaningful way.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  56. Aaron June 23, 2011 at 2:24 AM #

I would love to be able to attend to gather new songs that are biblically saturated, doctrinally sound yet singable for our small congregation, which is a church in reform. We are in need of music that proclaims Christ so we can teach and admonish one another through our singing.

  57. kathy June 23, 2011 at 2:41 AM #

Chose Ryan Guerra- by chosing Ryan you would not only be blessing a wonderful man, you would be blessing a young family, our entire congregation, and our city. And it would bring great joy to me.

  58. Sara B June 23, 2011 at 3:12 AM #

I’m not a pastor or a worship leader. I am a mother raising little disciples. Though this may not seem a big task I think this conference could greatly influence our worship at home

  59. Samuel Than June 23, 2011 at 4:23 AM #

I’m from land of Australia, have not been to America before. Heard great things about WorshipGod conference, am planning to come to experience it all if i’m showered with this free registration, :). Thanks again for the wonderful things you’ve done.

  60. Bob K June 23, 2011 at 4:28 AM #

Would like to grow in my skills, knowledge, and passion of worshiping my Savior. Would like to fellowship w/others of my worship team that are going but I have been getting less hours

  61. Paul June 23, 2011 at 4:32 AM #

Hello Bob, I have met you at Resolved conference, a year ago. It was very encouraging talking with you. I remember how we prayed to our Father regarding my church situation and the way I should improve in leading in songs and encouraging the weak with the gospel. I am grateful for Sovereign grace music and the permission you gave me to use it for His glory. I would definitely want to come and worship together and also learn from your ministry. At first I prayed and though I would not be attending your conference because it is simply not in my budget, but now with this opportunity maybe the dice will fall on me. Proverbs 16:33 “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.”
    by His grace
    Paul

  62. Cassie Chaplin June 23, 2011 at 5:04 AM #

My husband, Cody, and I are (Lord willing) moving to New Zealand soon to be worship leaders for a church plant. We have a good start on a solid base, but we need to build on how you express with excellence why worship matters. PS- New parents, single income ;)

  63. Jon Moore June 23, 2011 at 11:40 AM #

We’re hoping to send a young worship leader, Garrett, who shows great promise. He is 23, trained at HillSong, and we would love for him to gain more exposure to SGM and a richer theology of worship.

  64. Brandon B June 23, 2011 at 2:06 PM #

Within the next six months, I will be moving into a new worship pastor position at my church. The goal of my leadership is to build multiple teams over the next three years as we prepare to church plant. I want to establish the right, Christocentric foundation in our teams.

  65. Wes Hileman June 23, 2011 at 2:11 PM #

I am sure that there are others who need the donated registration even more than I do. But, I hope that I might be blessed to be the one chosen at random.

  66. Katie Varney June 23, 2011 at 2:14 PM #

I would love to further explore the methodology of Worship with intent with our congregation. Have recently read Worship matters; it’s changed our whole “mission”. Warning, I want to participate in everything possible!!!

  67. Greg Frohna June 23, 2011 at 2:27 PM #

I don’t want to over-spiritualize this, but I don’t think I deserve to go. Generosity is not earned, it is received. As a former lead pastor, now in the role of Creative Arts pastor, I believe I could really benefit from this type of learning environment. Thanks.

  68. Marie June 23, 2011 at 2:48 PM #

In reading this post I was thinking, I would enjoy going to this conference, I don’t know where it is and don’t know anything about it or if my husband could even get off work, but it looks like just the type of spiritual refreshment that I need. The funny thing is to me that at the moment I don’t have a full time worship ministry. I am waiting on the Lord and serving where I am with the ministries that God has given us. So, if I win free registration it would be totally awesome and a great chance to come learn more about God and spend some time worshiping Him.

  69. David Chapdelaine June 23, 2011 at 2:59 PM #

I have been worship leading as an intercessory missionary full-time for 2 years. I have not attended a worship conference before – not fully devoted to the topic, anyways. I listen to a lot of teaching, read and study. I would be interested in attending this conference, my first fully-worship conference.

  70. Matt Rexford June 23, 2011 at 3:19 PM #

I would rather one of the free ones go to someone who needs it a little more than I do. So maybe I’ll get a random pick or be picked because of my incredible humility and generosity (smiley face)….

  71. Matthew Mckenzie June 23, 2011 at 4:04 PM #

I wan’t to benefit from this year’s awesome lineup of speakers, as well as being able to ask questions about how to further my gift for the kingdom of God. But overall I want to experience the joy of just coming and worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! To God be the glory!

  72. Rob Swanson June 23, 2011 at 7:22 PM #

As a young person who leads every Sunday, I want to learn to best glorify Christ by my leading of the music. Not only that, but I want to learn to shepherd my team so that they too can effectively lead a congregation to worship God.

  73. Benji June 23, 2011 at 7:28 PM #

Worshipping God as a one? That’s just good stuff that can’t be ignored! But then again beyond the worship is the reason why we worship, and being able to attend to listen to the sermons would be saweet. After all, it’s for God’s glory!

  74. Trevor M. June 23, 2011 at 7:39 PM #

I would like to come for a few reasons:
-I’ve never been to a conference like this.
-I’m part of leadership on my congregation’s music team.
-I love to sing to God with the saints.
-I listen to Sojourn’s music incessantly.
-I want to better serve my congregation via music.
    SDG

  75. Jason June 23, 2011 at 7:45 PM #

As the lay-led worship director, it is both my passion and duty to do all I can to ensure I am honoring God by rightly facilitating an atmosphere and heart of worship in the bride of Christ, to the glory of God. This conference is one of those things.

  76. Aly Cubas June 23, 2011 at 7:48 PM #

My hubs is a music minister and I’m his wife :) Our church, besides us personally, have been incredibly blessed by your ministry. I’m a stay at home hip homeschooling Mommy to 4 grls. I’d LOVE to surprise my honey w these tickets!!!

  77. David Brokke June 23, 2011 at 7:48 PM #

My reason is simple. I can’t afford to go unless I have help. And I see there are many more like me. But I am encouraged that I will be able to listen to the recordings and the sessions!

  78. Sean Campbell June 23, 2011 at 7:59 PM #

My Church’s worship pastor took on the load of youth pastor while we searched to fill that gap. Now that we found one it’d nice for him to be able to go this conference to refocus on worship. He’s married with an adopted daughter from Africa looking to adopt again!

  79. Christy June 23, 2011 at 8:04 PM #

Thrilled to be attending this conference as my husband’s ministry partner and looking forward to a time of growing spiritually and enhancing ministry skills for His name and renown. We don’t get out much just the two of us, so this is exciting and would be even better for free!!!

My parents are both on the worship team at our church and I would love for them to be able to attend. As their daughter they have been such a blessing and an example to me. Because they chose to attend my college graduation they were not able to attend this conference. I want to bless them for all they have done for me and their 30 years of marriage to each other. They spend many hours pouring into others and making sacrifices, it’s time they get to be poured into I only pray I can follow in their footsteps.

  81. Kim June 23, 2011 at 8:10 PM #

I would like registration not for me, but for one of the men who is leading or co-leading worship in the church I attend. I’ll admit I really want to hear and sing more Sovereign Grace Music corporately for worship at church.

  82. Will J June 23, 2011 at 8:10 PM #

Our part time worship pastor also has a full time job changing oil and is a seminary student and just got married. Therefore, he has no extra money to afford the entry fee but desires the opportunity to learn from the conference. Heres ten more words to get to fifty.

  83. Will Cockram June 23, 2011 at 8:19 PM #

I live just north of London and am really keen to come.. but it was just going to be too expensive. I’m a music teacher in a local school and actively looking to move into music ministry – and would live to come and learn from you guys!

  84. Darby Hughes June 23, 2011 at 8:21 PM #

Because I’m a rookie music minister and could use some helpful instruction!

  85. Tom Bos June 23, 2011 at 8:21 PM #

I am a recent graduate of Cornerstone University and am seeking a full-time worship position. I would love to be able to start my ministry career with the knowledge and experience this conference would provide!

  86. DeJuan Brown June 23, 2011 at 8:24 PM #

For our plant’s Worship Leader: Everyone needs to be encouraged by people who help us best use gifts for God’s glory. Challenges: 1. We’re in a small town;there’s little opportunity to relate & learn from other WL that’d foster growth among co-laborers. 2. Finances-He’d certainly go if he could afford to.

  87. billy salvador June 23, 2011 at 8:33 PM #

I do NOT deserve to be picked. But through Gods grace He has sovereignly given this opportunity to many to learn how to further serve the local church and the Body of Christ to sing praises to the One and only God. I desire to lead Gods people to give God the glory He rightly deserves and give a glimpse of what we believers will be doing everyday in heaven. Soli Deo Gloria.

  88. Matt Templeton June 23, 2011 at 8:40 PM #

After 10 years of volunteering as a worship leader/musician, God called me into a full time worship leader position. I resigned my job as an electrical engineer last October. My wife and I are expecting our second child in October, and it would be such a blessing to experience Worship God first hand!

  89. Ben S. June 23, 2011 at 8:45 PM #

Worship God is an amaizing conference, I’ve been several times before. If I win I will give my registration to someone that has already registered and paid but really can’t afford it.

  90. Matt June 23, 2011 at 8:59 PM #

Due to finances the full time music director position I have held for the past few years was recently cut to part time. This has not only made it difficult to lead and pour into our musicians effectively, but I can no longer afford to attend the conference I’ve been anticipating since listening to the mp3s from WorshipGod09. It would be an incredible blessing to be able to attend and learn and be refreshed.

  91. Dan June 23, 2011 at 9:00 PM #

Because my wife and I are going to WG11 for our anniversary!

  92. Cameron June 23, 2011 at 9:07 PM #

I desire the unending, inexhaustible worth of Jesus Christ be magnified and displayed in all of my life. I long to be like him and point to him as I lead worship, love my new bride, and teaching the word of God. I would be deeply grateful for this opportunity.

  93. Traci Healey June 23, 2011 at 9:30 PM #

i’m a mom with 2 kids under 2. i read the description of julie kauflin’s seminar and would love to be there to learn from her. i would love to have some undistracted time to hear from God and worship Him.

  94. Russell P June 23, 2011 at 9:30 PM #

I’m already registered for the conference, but as a seminary student, money is extremely tight. It would be a great blessing if I could attend for free. I attended my first conference in 2009 and was immensely blessed by being there. Looking forward to seeing how the spirit moves this year, as well.

  95. Ethan Dean June 23, 2011 at 9:58 PM #

I am serving in a full time worship director position and attending college to finish a music degree. I am already registered for the conference, but have several people on my worship team that I encouraged to attend and they badly wanted to attend and could not because of finances. I believe that they would benefit much from coming to the conference as much as I did when I attended for the 1st time back in ’09.

  96. desiree June 23, 2011 at 10:14 PM #

TMy hubbie, who IS coming to WorshipGod, is the worship leader. He keeps looking at the site and sqying, “I wish u were coming with me Honey.” Also, I really need help with being a singer on the team. Our sound guy says I sing a whole note flat.

  97. jim gavigan June 23, 2011 at 10:18 PM #

I would like to go but its hard to get away from being a caregiver for my Mom. If I do get a chance to go I would want to take my friend who is in a wheelchair & also does not get a chance to get out much. This would be a great encouragement to her to worship our Lord with others. Thanks for the consideration.
    Jim

  98. Daniel June 23, 2011 at 10:33 PM #

    I feel stuck.

I’m humbled by some of the replies above: church planters, laid off pastors, struggling families; it’s hard to see myself as having a greater financial need.

But I love God, and desperately want to see my church love God more…may God hear this prayer. Amen.

  99. Erena June 23, 2011 at 10:40 PM #

I am the music coordinator, arranger and main pianist at our wee church in Auckland, New Zealand.

I’d love to come to WorshipGod11 to meet with other likeminded musicians and upskill. I always look for opportunities to learn from others.

We have just one small team of mostly young musicians but they are very dedicated.

  100. susan hart June 23, 2011 at 10:41 PM #

hi friends–our pastoral assistant has never been to a worship conference. he is the drummer/worship leader of our tiny little inner city church plant. charlie has 3 young children, a wonderful wife, and a part time job as a hospice chaplain to support his family. i loaned him my copy of “worship matters” to read (which he did) and we would love to see him be able to attend a conference. i know he would come away with a renewed perspective and refreshed spirit.
thanks so much for doing this!

  101. Lou K. June 23, 2011 at 10:58 PM #

  102. Jesse Schlicher June 24, 2011 at 12:28 AM #

I’ve been a full-time middle-school teacher and part-time music minister for the past 5 years. I couldn’t sign up because it’s the first week of school. The church just pulled me on full time so now I can make it. I want to start this new season off right!!!

  103. Kathy B June 24, 2011 at 12:28 AM #

Why I Want to Attend WORSHIP GOD 2011:

  104. Colleen Ma June 24, 2011 at 12:44 AM #

I’m the mother of eight wonderful children; number two is called of God to vocational worship ministry. He is leading at church and would truly appreciate this opportunity for worship, training, and a greater understanding of worship in the larger body of Christ! Thanks for considering him.

  105. Joel June 24, 2011 at 12:52 AM #

    Bob,

As a pianist raising support to serve in music ministry, evangelism, and discipleship in Kiev, Ukraine, a free registration would enable me to share what I learn with Ukrainian musicians, church planters, and pastoral seminary students. I’ve helped plan and lead worship, and love leading kids in song.

    Thanks!

  106. Megan Acker June 24, 2011 at 2:00 AM #

My husband and I feel called to worship. Unfortunately, right now we are in a bit of a valley and are desperate for the mountain top. In the meantime, my heart will rejoice and I will listen for the still, small voice to break the silence.

  107. Michael June 24, 2011 at 2:28 AM #

I just began as a part-time music director at a church 10 months ago. I’m new to this and have a lot to learn – and I also have never been to a worship conference and would just love the opportunity.

  108. Lacie June 24, 2011 at 2:47 AM #

I’ve been so encourage in the Lord for the last few months and am desiring to go deeper still. As a mother of three girls I feel a constant desire to teach and train them to be spiritually prepared for life. It would be a blessing to attend!

  109. Justin June 24, 2011 at 3:35 AM #

I’m a young worship leader in NC. I grew up in a small traditional church and have a deep desire to grow in practical ways and stretch myself to lead God’s people into His presence in new and fresh, yet Biblically sound ways. Our God is a great God and I want to grow in my personal understanding and knowledge of who He is and lead others to glorify Him.

  110. Rosie Villanueva June 24, 2011 at 3:39 AM #

My husband, Sergio, has been looking forward to this conference for months. He leads worship at our Hispanic congregation near Chicago. Our church has no budget, but if you make a way for him to go, he won’t be the only one benefiting from it, but our whole congregation will.

  111. Chris June 24, 2011 at 5:54 AM #

    Bob,

I cannot afford to come on my own dime. I am currently a church worship leader and a public school music teacher. A Christian college just offered me a position to take the lead in helping change their entire campus music. This conference would give me more tools to do this effectively.

  112. Barry Joslin June 24, 2011 at 9:14 AM #

    This is Barry, #26 above.

We’ve gotten the couple’s registration covered, and there are others with more pressing needs. We will see you all in August.

Yours will be a difficult task, Bob! Many noble entries here.

  113. James Chavis June 24, 2011 at 11:59 AM #

My desire is to see Christ manifested in the lives of His sheep. When we encounter our Heavenly
Father in worship, I believe this is being accomplished. I’ve been built up personally in the last 4 months through SGM, (Plant!, music and sermons) and would love to attend this conference.

  114. Kevin June 24, 2011 at 2:02 PM #

as God uses me to lead His people in worship, I want to CMajor live-changing transformation by and through His Spirit, and not just AMinor emotional response and pick-me-up. My desire is to have Gsus lifted up, and that God’s glory will never BDiminished.

  115. Joe June 24, 2011 at 2:50 PM #

Because my daughter and I have been a writing songs together for about a year and a half now and WG11 would be a great opportunity to help us hone our skills and get good feedback. The cost of the conference is not so prohibitive, but college costs have forced us to make some hard choices.

  116. Jeremy June 24, 2011 at 8:05 PM #

I desire to attend because I desperately want to honor God in shepherding the people that He has entrusted to me. There is MUCH to learn. I glean so much from all the past conference resources that it would be a total grace to be able to attend in person.

  117. Hannah June 24, 2011 at 8:06 PM #

My life is completely devoted to the One who saved me and I want this to overflow to others. I am a pianist, classically trained at New England Conservatory, and am striving to be a music leader within my church. This conference would greatly enhance my skills and ideas to help my congregation in worshipping their God.

    Thank you–

  118. Thomas Clay June 24, 2011 at 8:56 PM #

Because I have been assisted incredibly by Bob’s influence. As someone who was raised A/G and is now in a reformed Baptist church Sovereign Grace ministries has been a God-ordained blessing to stay balanced. I have not been able to attend any conference for many years.

  119. Richard June 24, 2011 at 9:10 PM #

Hoping to go but our church doesn’t have the money to send me. I’m local (Baltimore) so there’s no need for hotel room charges. I first attended WG in 2009, and it opened my eyes as to how much potential there is in a worship service. And that’s 50 words!

  120. Jonathan Watson June 25, 2011 at 12:25 AM #

I would like to attend WorshipGod 2011 because I need to. What’s more, the people I minister to in song need me to. So often, I’m just doing what I’ve seen, what I think is best, or what someone has helped me with. I want to give God my best.

  121. Jeff B. June 25, 2011 at 2:54 AM #

I’m bivocational and lead worship at a four year old church plant. This conference would be an incredible opportunity to grow in ways that would benefit my whole church, as I seek to lead this particular body in glorifying God. Pick me! Pick me!

  122. Taylor Lemoine June 25, 2011 at 2:56 AM #

I would like to attend WoshipGod11 because I am a drummer who needs to be reminded of how I can use my gifts for God. God has blessed me with a lot, and I desire to allow Him to use my life for His glory. I am young and have little money, but one thing I do have is a passion to give God my best, and I want that to somehow include my banging wood against plastic drum heads and metal cymbals.

  123. Jonathan June 25, 2011 at 2:57 AM #

The Lord has graciously called me to serve as a worship pastor. I’d relish the opportunity to worship alongside others who also minister. We have been going through a difficult church situation for the last 3 years, and would love to worship with others who have gone through similar struggles.

  124. Matt Ng June 25, 2011 at 2:58 AM #

I’m a recent UCLA graduate and worship leader aspiring to ministry. I’m blessed to attend Grace Community Church under the teaching/music of your friends Rick Holland/John Martin. WorshipGod would be a blessing for me to grow in the grace/knowledge of our Lord. I’m the LEAST deserving commenter- reading these shows me all God’s doing!

  125. Shane Farris June 25, 2011 at 12:43 PM #

I would love the opportunity to learn more about leading worship but also want to learn more about true worship so that I can assist others in truly worshiping out God. I attend and help lead in a smaller, and what I would call a more traditional church. I have great love for the traditional songs but at the same time realize that our congregation is missing out on so many God inspired songs and would like to help lead them in this direction as well. But ultimately I want to teach that it is not about the songs we sing, the type of music we use or the instruments we play but that it is the condition of our heart when we approach his throne. I believe that WorshipGod 11 would be a tremendous step not only for me but for our church. Thank you for this opportunity!

    Shane

  126. Bob Kauflin June 25, 2011 at 1:09 PM #

Thanks, everyone, for participating. The contest is now officially over. This is going to be difficult. Wish I could give a free registration to everyone who posted here!

I’ll be posting the six winners on Monday.

    Thanks!

  127. Huab Paul Muas June 26, 2011 at 10:08 PM #

Oh no. It’s June 26. (sigh) I’m too late. :) Thanks for offering a great opportunity for us all though!

  128. Ruben Carrillo June 28, 2011 at 8:38 PM #

    Hey, Bob
I hope I could be chosen for this opportunity because I am in great need of a rekindling of the fire I once had for the gospel. I am a lead musician at my church, but I have had struggles with sin, difficulty at home, and overall spiritual dryness. I am currently not leading because I am being discipled.

A friend of mine told me how amazing your conference was a few years back, and when he described it to be, I felt a deep sadness and a hunger for that passion he came back with. I’ve never been to a worship conference for worship before because of money, or time constraints. This year I would be able to if I had a sponsor. I don’t deserve this, but it would be life changing. Plus, I haven’t been out of state in years!

I’d like to experience God once more.
