WorshipGod Conference Rescheduled for Next Year

Since 2000 Sovereign Grace has been hosting a worship conference every other year. We had planned to hold another one in 2010 but plans have changed. Due to the fact that we hold two other conferences every other year, we decided to go ahead and have the next WorshipGod conference August 5-8, 2009.

The tentative theme is “From Generation to Generation.” I’m thinking we’ll focus on the way forms, methods, practices, and most importantly, the substance of corporate worship is passed on from one generation to the next. What should we hold on to? What should we leave behind? What should we reconsider? Who makes the decisions? Are separate meetings our only option when ministering to different generations? I also hope to address some of the ideas that have been floating around in our culture, and provide direction that will help us pursue congregational worship that expresses unchanging biblical truth in a way that is Christ-exalting, passionate, relevant, and humble.

As always, we’re planning on giving away lots of stuff, having some great teaching and music, and equipping folks to serve their churches more effectively. I’ll pass on more information as we have it.

w00t! Just give me an address for my registration. Our son was two weeks old for WG08, and he’s already asking about going back. I can’t wait to tell him.

I do so hope that I can go again. Everyone at my church noticed a profound difference in the ‘me’ that returned from WG08 related to the one that left for it. Great content, great new songs, and great encouragement. Thank you.

Thank you for posting this. Can I ask if the dates are definite? We’re planning to come from Singapore for this, and would love to be able to make travel arrangements as soon as possible. Thanks so much.

Sweet!!! This past conference was one of the highlights of my entire year because of the way that Lord met me as well as all of the practical instruction that I received.

The theme sounds fantastic!! It holds particular meaning for me since my dad is the worship leader at our church and my mom also sings on the team and now my brother and I serve alongside them. I love our group’s age diversity – we have people who are undergrads in college and we have grandparents on the team. What a joy to see the truths of the Gospel passed on to the next generation!!

Hooray!!! WG08 really changed my perspective on worship. What a wonderful blessing it was to learn the value and importance of worshiping our amazing God though music. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who I’m sure are already busy planning for next year. I was truly blessed by Bob Kauflin and all of the other gifted speakers who showed such obvious hearts for God. I am already looking forward to WG09! Praise HIM!!!!

Yea! I wish I could come, but more importantly, maybe Roger and I can help some of our kids to come to Worship God this time. Ben and his wife serve in various ways at their church, Aaron and his wife and Corrie and her husband (a pastor) are involved in leading worship in their respective churches! This so blesses us to see them following God and rearing their little ones in the church. How much is the conference going to cost?

    • Bob Kauflin January 9, 2009 at 10:36 AM #

Dana, I’ll post on this more at some point, but the early bird prices will be 85 for students, 110 for groups of 5 or more, and 135 for individuals. That would be great to see your kids at the conference!

Our church has 2 tickets that have come available because people have had to cancel and it was too late for a refund. We would be willing to let them go at a discounted rate. We do not wish to make a profit, just maybe lessen the burden. We are a small new church, so it was a big deal to be able to buy these tickets in the first place! We hate for them to go to waste. Please contact me at acandjc@gmail.com if interested. Thank you and God Bless!
