Songlist from the CCEF Conference

ac09-navWhen I agreed to lead worship at the CCEF conference last week, I have to admit I was a little intimidated by the theme of the conference: Sex Matters.

As it turns out, the teachings provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate God’s grace in the gospel. I was reminded once again that there’s no part of our lives that the gospel doesn’t address, whether it’s reminding us of God’s holiness, assuring us that our forgiveness through Christ is complete, freeing us from our shame, or changing our hearts to find our greatest pleasure in God himself.

I really enjoyed playing with the other musicians, who came from four different churches. Not only were they skilled, but they had listened to the songs I sent in advance, which made rehearsals a joy.

During the conference I had the opportunity to talk with David Powlison about the similarities between  leading worship and biblical counseling. Since David has influenced my thinking so much in this area, it was a joy to talk with him about it for a few minutes. I’ll let you know when that video becomes available.

In the mean time, here are the songs we ended up singing at the conference.

God Over All (D. Kauflin)

Thank you for your counseling us through your leading us in worship. It was healing for me, as God reoriented my thinking from my struggles to His accomplishments through Christ.
