On Saturday, Dec. 7, I’m heading to The Chapel in Indianapolis, IN for The Gathering Midwest. The event will take place from 1-9 PM and I’ll be bringing a group of musicians primarily from my home church in Louisville, KY for a day of singing, teaching, food, and fellowship.
We’ll start at 1 PM with corporate worship and a message called Gathering Around the Gospel. In the afternoon you’ll have the opportunity to attend two breakout sessions, designed to equip leaders, bands, and songwriters. After dinner, which will be provided, we’ll spend the evening celebrating the gospel in word and song.
The idea for The Gathering comes from an album of the same name that we recorded at the 2011WorshipGod conference. These one day events enable people to get a feel for what took place there without having to attend a three day conference. Eric Turbedsky and his church sponsored one in Orange County, CA last year and we had a great turnout and a great time.
The total cost for the Indy event is only $30, which includes dinner. Special rates are available for students.
The Chapel, led by Randy Worland, recently became part of the Sovereign Grace family of churches, and it’s a joy to partner with them for this event.
If you live within a few hours of Indianapolis, we’d love to have you join us! For more information check out the website.
Great idea to have a gathering event, yet as a worship leader, a Saturday is pretty challenging to be out super late and get back to lead in the morning and the fact that it is in December is even more crazy with adult choir concerts and kids musicals, etc. Look forward to a midwest gathering in February or September!
Great points, Mike! Others on your team are welcome to come as well. We’ll try to do another some time.
Thanks so much for coming and leading this event! It was so helpful to me as I am just getting started in worship/music ministry. I look forward to digging through this entire website for more information and coming to as many conferences with you as possible! God Bless you!
