A New Season for Sovereign Grace Music

SGMusic_skin_2x24_FotorSovereign Grace Music  has been seeking to produce Christ-exalting songs and training for local churches, from local churches, for over 30 years now. We’ve been deeply encouraged and grateful that God has caused our songs to be sung throughout the world and translated into over 15 languages. All that has happened with a small staff and limited resources, by God’s grace.

For a while now, Catapult Distribution has been distributing our digital music, Impact has been handling our fulfillment, and Integrity has been administrating our song catalog. Looking ahead, we wanted to consolidate and hopefully expand the reach of our resources. As we examined different options, Integrity Music emerged as the obvious choice. After many conversations, we’ve entered into an agreement with Integrity to handle all our distribution (physical and digital), process product fulfillment, and provide help with promotion.

The folks at Integrity, including Jonathan Lane, Wendi Lord, Adrian Thompson, and Mike Murray, couldn’t have been more of a joy to work with. They’ve made it clear they want to partner with us to see gospel-rich, theologically-driven congregational songs gain a wider audience.

While some things are staying the same, changes are in the works:

  1. The Sovereign Grace Music website will continue to be the go to place for album information and free charts and lead sheets. Once you’re there, you’ll find links to buy any of our albums or songs, including future releases. For an explanation of the other cool stuff you’ll find at our site, check out this post.
  2. All our physical CDs will now be available at the Integrity Online store. They’ll also carry my books and our Top 100 Songbook. We’re closing the Sovereign Grace online store effective this Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015. Fortunately, we’ll still be able to offer special prices whenever we’d like.
  3. A number of our older CDs will no longer be available in CD format. But you can download them at the Sovereign Grace Music Bandcamp site. And in case you’re wondering, we’ll continue to offer our future albums on Bandcamp.
  4. We’re taking a number of older albums off streaming services, but they will also be available at our Bandcamp site.

Thanks for your patience as we work out the details of this transition. We think in the end we’ll be able to serve people more effectively, use our resources more wisely, and introduce more people to our songs.

And if you think of it, we’d appreciate your prayers that these changes will enable us to reach more people with songs that proclaim the glorious good news of forgiveness and reconciliation to God through Jesus Christ!

What about future SGM releases, will they be available on the bandcamp site as well, or you’ll just keep it, without adding new releases to it? Thanks in advance.

Eduardo, great question. Everything will stay the same with new releases. I’ll add that to my post.

Does this mean sheet music and charts will no longer be available for free?

    • Bob Kauflin December 29, 2015 at 4:53 PM #

John, our sheet music will continue to be free. Thanks for asking!

Would it be possible to share the list of CDs that will no longer be available as physical copies? We might need to place an order before the 31st. I like using them as give aways to my musicians.

Will new releases be available on iTunes?

    • Bob Kauflin December 30, 2015 at 5:23 AM #

Lois, yes all our music will still be available through the normal digital outlets. Thanks for asking!

What about speaker seminars/sermons? I downloaded all of Bob’s past WorshipGod seminars off of the Sovereign Grace Store. There were around 30 of them and they were all free and came as mp3’s. I often recommend them to other musicians. Where can all of Bob’s seminars be downloaded in the future?

    Hey Bob,
Any chance we’ll see a post sometime soon about upcoming projects in 2016?

    • Bob Kauflin December 30, 2015 at 11:11 AM #

Hopefully after our songwriter retreat in January. Thanks for asking!

Will your physical CD’s still be available from EMU in the UK?

    • Bob Kauflin February 8, 2016 at 11:38 AM #

Rupert, thanks for asking. No, distribution for our physical CDs will eventually switch over to Integrity in the UK. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our partnership with EMU, but Integrity is a worldwide agreement.
